You must be the Change you want to See in the World

The Mumbai Gateway Peace March was like a giant wave of people condemning the terror acts of the cowardice which took away the lives of 185 innocents and anger against the Government/Politicians who were incapable to protect the nation from these terrorist who had hit the common people cowardly.

I watched it on the television as I am in Bangalore. Not only me, the whole nation watched it and everyone of them would have wished to be there in the March to pray for the souls of those who lost their lives to rest in peace and for those heroes who laid their lives bravely reserving a place for themselves in heaven.

The placards and chants were loud & clear displaying the anger against the Politicians. One read ‘No Tax & No Vote’ and another ‘Enough is enough’. Yeah truly enough is enough and the time has come to change. To change what or whom?? Ours is a democratic country where the Government is by the/for the/ and of the people. It’s we who have elected these politicians…So we all are equally responsible for all these things happening.

I have a strong belief in this quote said by Bob Procter:

You are the only problem you will ever have and you are the only solution.

So instead of stop voting and stop paying taxes or blaming on these corrupted politicians what constructive measures can help us from facing these issue in the future?

For any government position, right from a Peon to higher official, there are certain qualifications they look for. If such is the case for a peon, what it should be for the person who is going to be the first person in your constituency. If you see the Organization structure of the company you work for, definitely the top executive would be recruited considering their professional experience and the institution they came from and several other things. But why don’t we look all these qualities and reputation from our constituent electoral candidate. Why should not all the electoral candidates undergo a course and get qualified to contest in the elections. So that they know the basic etiquettes of administration, duties and common sense to address the people when there is a situation like this.

Every citizen should contribute and is responsible in making the government and the leaders. Leaders are made by us. Do please utilize your vote to choose the right candidate going through his profile. Even you can contribute by joining mainstream politics. That would be a fantastic contribution you can ever make to our country.

I would appreciate the thought of Mani Ratnam in his movie Yuva, encouraging the youth to join mainstream Politics. Let’s hope to see many young leaders coming up and taking the nation ahead selflessly. Lok Paritran, a party formed by youngsters passed out from IIT-K is a live example of the movie Yuva. Our nation needs more youngsters in mainstream politics with lot of determination to make our nation ‘The Most Powerful & Developed’.

On my part, I am going to exercise my right of vote in choosing the right candidate for my constituency.

Chandra is very much correct in saying that there should be some standard set for our politicians to go to the seat of power and authority so that the people with right mind set can enter into parliament and can steer our country in the right direction, but the need of the hour is to mount as much as international pressure to destroy the terrorist training camps accross the border, and extensive search and destroy operation should also be carried out inside the country to catch the terrorist who are hidden and destroy their network.

Prevention is always better than cure.
.Here i would like to mention another point, some politicians instead of contributing to the safety and security of the nation, are engaging them selves in creating insecure atmosphere in our own country for there selfish gain. By that way we are weakning ourself and separatist force are alos taking advantage of that situation. These political leader shoud be delt with iron fist.
Here media has a very important role to play as they are often refered as one of the pillars of democracy.

there are load of things to write but I would end here as attitude is the key to every problem and only right kind of attitude is required to be a politician as they have the greatest onus on them.

Chandra, your perspective to terror is well appreciated. I still feel there are lots to be done as an Individual, and I feel more than anything the need of the hour is Unity. Today india is projected more for its infighting , we have in mumbai the fight for Marathi Manoos, In assam for Gorkhas, In Kashmir between Kashmiri Pandits and Muslims, In Gujarat the divide is on religion and fundamentalism, in orissa, andhra and north maharashtra it is Naxalites. And over and above all these challenges we have the politicians trying the break the unity with the silliest of divide that we can think of....
Are we so fragile..are we so intolerant..are we so selfish or plain simple don't we care at all...whatever the case may be ...the world today feels we are a dis-united bunch of people ..who are on the verge of mayhem at the silliest instance...and we silently support or more worse ignore such threats...our unity is history and our regionalism and fundamentalism our present.
It is time that we show to the world that in all these disimilarities and challenges we still are united...there is no one in this world ..who can divide us and cause anguish among us...we need to show them that we are as intolerant to terror whether internal or external as we are tolerant about our culture and above all we are patriots who would put up a stiff fight to throw out any threat post to our country... lets not fake unity lets come out and show our strenght lets face the daunting task ..with smiling face..lets put our energies togather to make india a great superpower..so that tomorrow anyone and everyone will not look at India as a potential landmine just about to burst at the slightest of disturbance...

Lets hold our heads high and support the true cause of the nation and I am sure we will show the world, united we face all challenges and united we trample all threats....
